The Electromechanical Training System, allows students to perform real experiments using virtual equipment.
LVSIM EMS SOFTWARE
What does the software provide to students? The software will allow engineering students to perform remote practices safely and effectively.
LVSIM EMS FREE
However, electrical engineering students can continue to learn and experiment with the EMS system, even from home, thanks to free access to LVSIM-EMS, our online simulation software. The Coronavirus outbreak has forced educational centers to empty their classrooms and training laboratories.
Competency Assessment and accreditation.Used either as a complement to the actual EMS laboratory equipment, or as a stand-alone product, LVSIM-EMS is a cost effective tool that enables students to perform the same exercises as in the courseware for the Computer-Assisted 0.2-kW Electromechanical Training System, Model 8006.
This trip condition is clearly indicated on the virtual EMS modules. Shortcircuit connections in the virtual equipment setup cause the virtual circuit-breaker protection to trip. All modules contained in the LVSIM®-EMS software feature the same front panel information as the actual EMS modules. Sophisticated mathematical models fully simulate the electrical and mechanical characteristics of all the actual EMS modules: power supply, motors, generators, transformers, and electrical and mechanical loads. Using the mouse, students can identify and set up equipment for a given exercise, make the necessary connections between the simulated (virtual) EMS modules, and verify the connections made – without ever touching actual EMS hardware. With LVSIM®-EMS, all the standard EMS laboratory equipment is replaced by images of the actual EMS modules that students can manipulate on the computer screen. The Lab-Volt Electromechanical Systems Simulation Software (LVSIM®-EMS) is a Windows®-based simulation software program that covers the same course work as the Computer-Assisted 0.2-kW Electromechanical Training System, Model 8006. Protective Relaying Control Station – A mobile rack for protective relay operation, including a DC power supply, DC control relays for system studies, and an interconnection panel to facilitate connection of the protective relays to the system to be protected. Refer to the Power System Modules section of this data sheet for a description of each module. These modules are designed to be installed in the Lab-Volt EMS workstation.
LVSIM EMS SERIES
Most of these modules are part of the Lab- Volt 0.2 kW ElectroMechanical System (EMS), Model 8001 or 8006.Power System Modules, 3700 Series – Modules specially designed for training in the protective relaying area, including current transformers, voltage transformers, power transformers, source impedances, a transmission grid, and others. The 0.2-kW Protective Relaying Training System consists of several modules, which can be divided into five groups, as follow: Common Electrical Modules _ Power supply, synchronous generator, induction motor, prime mover / dynamometer, resistive loads, voltmeters, ammeters, and others.
The system provides hands-on training, at the system level, in the following fields of protective relaying: The Lab-Volt 0.2-kW Protective Relaying Training System, Model 8007, is an innovative system that extends training in protective relaying beyond the operation and calibration of individual relays into broader circuit applications.
